SETN Safety & Maintenance Council (SMC/MC) Meeting
Date: May 20, 2025  Volunteering for Holiday Safety Break on May 23, 2025
Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: I-75 Northbound near Athens – Mile Marker 45

This month's SETN Safety & Maintenance Council (SMC/MC) meeting, scheduled for May 20th, 2025, will be canceled in lieu of volunteering for the Tennessee Trucking Association's (TTA) Holiday Safety Break on May 23, 2025. This important event promotes highway safety during the Memorial Day weekend, and we need your help to make it a success!

We are seeking volunteers and water donations for the event. Volunteers will help distribute free refreshments and promote safe driving messages at various rest areas.

Event Locations:

I-75 Northbound near Athens – Mile Marker 45 (This location is closest to SETN)
I-40 Westbound near Dickson – Mile Marker 170
I-40 Eastbound near Jackson – Mile Marker 73
I-40 Eastbound near Dandridge – Mile Marker 420

What to Expect:
Members of Tennessee’s Road Team, TTA Safety Management Council, and the Department of Safety will be at each location providing refreshments and promoting safety tips like buckling up, slowing down, and avoiding distracted and drowsy driving. A tractor-trailer will also be on display at each location to show the blind spots around large vehicles.
