SETN July Meeting Notes
The meeting was called to order by Chairman – Monte King
The motion to open the meeting was made by Monte King and seconded by an attendee.
Old business – Not applicable.
New business – YPC Event, TTA Convention, multiple upcoming roadside inspection events, Operation Southern Slowdown, and the Anti Booting Law start date.
Self-introductions were made by those in attendance. Monte then introduced the speakers that were in attendance over a zoom call.
Meeting Topic: Advancing Trucking Efficiency & Reliability – Navigating New PC Engine Oil Standards
Shell Global Solutions has recently introduced new specifications for passenger car engine oils under the Shell Helix Ultra brand. These upgraded oils are designed to meet stringent industry and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements. The enhancements focus on improving engine performance, increasing fuel efficiency, and providing better protection against wear and tear. Additionally, Shell is working on the Proposed Category 12 (PC-12) engine oils, which are set to become the new standard by 2027. These oils will support advancements in engine technology and stricter emissions regulations, offering benefits such as increased oxidation performance, wear reduction, and improved fuel economy
The venue was very conducive to the meeting and those in attendance seemed receptive to future meetings at Chattanooga State.
